ANTIOXIDANTS

Antioxidants: The Protective Shield for Polymers

Antioxidants are among the most essential stabilizing additives in polymer formulations. By inhibiting radical reactions and oxidative degradation, they protect polymer chains against chain scission, yellowing, and loss of mechanical properties. Their presence ensures better processability at elevated temperatures, prevents scorch, and maintains the final performance of the product throughout its service life.

A synergistic blend of primary antioxidants (hindered phenols) and secondary antioxidants (phosphites and thioethers) not only controls free radicals but also decomposes peroxides. This dual action provides excellent thermal and light stability for polymers such as PE, PP, ABS, PS, and elastomers.

Selecting the right antioxidant system ultimately results in greater durability, consistent color stability, and uniform product quality—making it an indispensable solution for manufacturers seeking industrial efficiency and extended product lifetime.
