Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) is produced by chlorinating polyethylene and, in rigid PVC formulations, serves as an impact modifier. By creating a finely dispersed rubbery phase, it increases toughness and low-temperature impact strength. CPE also contributes chemical, oil, heat, and weather/UV resistance, making it suitable for profiles, pipes, sheets, as well as cable insulation/jackets and roofing membranes. It is compatible with Ca–Zn stabilizer systems and common processing aids, integrating into extrusion and molding without noticeable loss of processability while improving flexibility and outdoor durability.
