Lead Stearate (NLS)
Lead Stearate NLS is a lead-based PVC heat stabilizer and lubricant widely used in rigid formulations such as pipes and fittings, window and door profiles, cables, and rigid sheets. It provides long-term thermal stability, uniform fusion, and a final surface free from blooming or whitening, making it a reliable choice for PVC manufacturers
Its key characteristics include uniform particle dispersion, suitable electrical properties, compatibility with TBLS and DBLS, and a well-balanced internal and external lubrication behavior. It scavenges initial HCl and delays the onset of degradation; however, it does not provide strong long-term stability. Due to its competitive cost, this material remains the most widely used lead-based stabilizer in the PVC industry.
Lead Stearate NLS is supplied in 25 kg laminated bags with inner liner and should be stored in a cool, dry place. For projects subject to environmental restrictions (RoHS, REACH), lead-free alternatives such as Ca-Zn stabilizers are recommended
